I know I will look back on this time and think how it went so fast or forget the challenges that came with being a working mom. I know I will remember the good times, but I also want to remember what our daily routine was like. I am not going to lie, it is not easy working. It is even harder on the days Jayson works too because he is gone for 24 hours. I promise I have a crazy amount of respect for single mom's. However, on the other hand, I have a hard time being sympathetic to mom's that stay home, work reduced schedules, have their husbands home every night, dont have kids or only have one. I want to say you have no idea how easy you have it. I know that is not the best attitude and I am working on it. I am working on understanding. So.........here is what a typical day looks like:
5:15- Alarm goes off
5:15-5:40 Snooze
5:40-5:55 get ready.
5:55-6:00 let dogs out, load car with pump, the kids 3 lunch pails, purse, my lunch, usually a game or makeup or baby doll that lana has set out specail to take, put their sippy cups in their chairs for them to have on the way to Jayson's parents
6:00-6:20 feed baby
6:20-6:25 3 trips in and out to load kids up, put dogs in, set alarm
6:40-6:45 3 trips in and out to take kids into Jayson's parents
7:05 ish work
8:30 pump
usually a morning meeting
10:00 call and check on babies
11:00 pump
11:30-12:30 lunch, nap if I am lucky
2:00 pump, call and check on babies
usually a meeting or two in the afternoon
4:50- leave work
5:15-get to Judy's. Excited to see kids
5:20 load up. Usually can get them all in 1 trip since they are more awake and will walk to car.
5:30- They are hungry. Want a sippy cup, snowcone, chick-fil-a, something.
6:00- Home
6:00-6:05 many trips in and out to unload blankies, pump, 4 lunch pails, dinner, drink carrier, baby, mail. i am not sure how many trips in and out I go.
6:05- baby is crying, dogs need to be let out, Lana and Grayson are fighting over a drink or something, They are ready to eat. I need to change out of my work clothes. It is chaos.
6:05-6:25- Feed Jackson
6:30-7:15 Try to get everyone to the table, we all eat, empty dishwasher.
7:15-7:45 play
7:45-8:15 baths, warm towels, 3 sets of jammies, 2 diapers, line them up to lotion while one runs off, chase them down, finally have all jammies on
8:15-8:45 cartoons
8:45-9:00 gummies for Lana and Grayson, brush teeth, hunt down their blankies, need a sip of water, go potty, discover bandaids in the potty to fish out, read books, turn on the noise machines, baby is screaming. Put Grayson to bed first, but sing a song first. Oh wait, where is the blankie, do you have lovie. Lana is watching Jackson. She wants her lamps on, can she read another book, do hand clap, lovins, she will shut her bathroom door, where is her blankie, sing me a song too.
9:00-9:15- I am beat. I just want to go to bed but I have to take a shower and feed Jackson. He waits in his bouncer while I shower. I talk to him, put my pj's on and feed him.
10:00-Everyone in bed.
Yes that is my day. It is organized chaos as I like to say. Never a dull moment and no I really wouldn't have it any other way.
