Do you ever have those moments when it is like God could be shouting at the top of his lungs to you? This Sunday, the semon was on patience. Anyone that knows me, know that patience and me seldom work together. In the grocery store line, traffic, certain converstions with my grandma, shopping...All these things and so much more (I am sure Jayson would tell you) really test my patience. I can literally feel the blood pressure rising, palms starting to sweat in these situations. I like things to be done when I schedule them to be done in my planner. Yes, I make my schedule or order of things to be done almost daily.
I asked Jayson just last week how he does it. How does he stay so patient? How does he not get impatient about having a baby. His answer...that is where faith comes in. Hmmm... I don't know if I ever really thought about patience being so closely linked to faith. It makes perfect sense. So all last week, I had really tried linking my faith to patience. I had been thinking about that and praying about it. Then the sermon Sunday was on PATIENCE!! It was pretty awesome.
James 5:7-11
7 Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. 8 You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.
9 Do not grumble against one another, brethren, lest you be condemned. Behold, the Judge is standing at the door! 10 My brethren, take the prophets, who spoke in the name of the Lord, as an example of suffering and patience. 11 Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord--that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.
