House Build!

We finally told both sets of parents about the house, so I figured it was time to do an update here.  It is not like we did not want to tell them, we just wanted to get down the road some on it.  We started looking for land around this time last year, then I found the lot around Thanksgiving.  We closed on the land in January, then have been working on the house plans and getting the construction loan.  We closed on the construction loan at the beginning of September and now things are finally starting to go up!

We are caring the construction loan ourself instead of going through a builder since Jayson has some great contacts through the fire department and it will save us quite a bit of money in the long run.  His station officer used to be a home builder and now he just frames, but he is helping us through the whole thing.  We are so thankful to have him helping us.

Here is some details on the house:

• 5 acres!  Need I say more!  It is going to be so nice to be out of neighborhood and not have neighbors dogs barking or kids throwing stuff over the fence.  It will also be great for Lana to learn to ride her bike and play on her swing set one day.  
• 2 floors, but the top floor is going to be a bonus room left unfinished for now.  
• 4 bedrooms + study
• very open formal dining, living room, kitchen

We are so excited and are having a lot of fun with it so far.
