Well the year did not start out exactly like a walk in the park. However, we are all healthy and happy and so much to be thankful for! Jayson, Dad, Brother, and I worked for 3 days on getting the stained concrete floors finished. It was 3 long days of work and I was exhausted! I did not make it to midnight on New Year's Eve or even through the OU Fiesta Bowl game New Year's Day. OU did win though!
By Sunday we had cleaned, stained, neutralized, and cleaned the floors again so it was time to cover them up with paper/plastic to protect them. We got out there early that morning since we were going to see his cousin in Tulsa. It took a little longer than we thought to cover them, so we stopped in the middle so we could get to Tulsa that afternoon. I think Jayson and I were both worn out from the previous three days and the thought of having to go back to finish covering the floors, but we were excited to get to see the new baby and have a nice road trip.
We got to Tulsa as planned and eneded up waiting for 45 minutes before heading to Braums so Lana could get out the car and ice cream makes everything better right! Some more time goes by before we hear that they were home. By this point, we both realize that it was beyond rediculous for us to have to wait for over an hour after driving all that way with a one year old. We are very busy and know what it is like with a newborn, but we would have made sure we were there to welcome any company that comes our way. So, with some ice cream, a diaper change, and lots of frustration, we head home. We get home only to head back out to the house until 10:00 pm (okay 9:00 pm for me) to finish on the floors.
I am so glad I was off Monday to get caught up on some lovins from Lana and some laundry! Now the thought of a three day work week is keeping me going!
