I always knew mom's had super powers. Who is the one you want when you are hurt, sick, something does not go your way...it is mom. She is also the one that you can get mad at and her love for you never wavers. Mom's have to be a mother, wife, house cleaner, dishwasher, doctor, nurse, cheerleader, cook, nanny, taxi driver, laundry mat, baker, shopper, artist, banker, photographer, referee, role model, secretary, story teller, barber, seamstress, and (one of the most important) teacher. I am sure there is ones that I left off but mom's have many roles and I am pretty sure it require super powers to be all of them!
So, I have been a mom for just over 2 years and I am still learning what super powers I have. One of my favorites, not because I like seeing my kids hurt, but is that of doctor. I love knowing that I have the power to heal boo-boo's when I hear "momma kiss it" and it is all better. That is a pretty powerful kiss if you ask me!
I am also learning the importance of a side-kick. What superhero doesn't have one after all. Last night, Grayson started crying and all I wanted to do was pat him or pick him and hold him. Jayson knew he needed to learn to go back to sleep on his own. He had the super power last night to make me wait. I was sure enough not strong enough on my own! After just 5 minutes and just a few whimpers, he was back asleep. I am so thankful to have such a great side-kick to enjoy this storybook with.
