It's a Boy!

We did not find out the gender of the new baby.  Not knowing actually did not bother me at all.  It was kind of nice not knowing what to prepare for.  We did not have the room set up, no names, and the car seat wasn't even installed before going to the hospital.  I was so relaxed and really enjoyed this pregnancy.

We were scheduled to be the second surgery of the day with the baby being here around 8:30.  We got the hospital around 7:00, IV was in, doctor and nurses came by and we were off to the OR.  At 8:32 we got to meet our third child, our second baby boy.  The first thing Jayson told me is that he looked just like his brother.  He even has the same birth marks on his forehead and left eye.

It was love at first sight, but I would have to wait almost 4 long hours to hold him.  He had some trouble with his oxygen levels so they kept him in the nursery longer than normal.  While he was getting things worked out, Jayson did not leave his side and was texting me pictures.  I was also trying to get better since every time I would sit-up, I would get sick.  By the time I was finally able to hold him, I was feeling better.

Pure love.  There is nothing like holding your new baby for the first time.  I said it when I had Lana and  will say it again... I would give birth everyday for that feeling you have those first few seconds.  Totally indescribable, but once you have experienced it, you get it.

The first night in the hospital after a c-section is anything but restful.  You have the IV drip hum, the sound of the leg compressions, pain, pulse monitor, checking vitals every few hours, changing out the IV bag, checking on bleeding.  It is a constant come and go of nurses.  After 24 hours, I was free and things were so much better.

Lana came to meet her new brother on day 2.  She came in and did not stop smiling.  She even said "I can't stop smiling".  I think she got a glimpse of that love at first sight.  She has instantly fallen in love with him and is the best helper.  I was going to have Jayson stay with Lana and Grayson on night 2, but  in true Oklahoma style, we had a tornado warning and figured it would be best if he stayed with me.  We knew Lana and Grayson would be safe with the storm shelter.  I am glad he stayed with me because we had to get into a inside room with a tornado south of us in Norman.

Day 3, Jayson brings Lana back up to the hospital and we eat some pizza for dinner.  Love my little family, only one is missing.

We go home on a Friday.  Jayson actually had to go to the doctor on his way to get me for his throat getting worse.  Still negative for strep, but we all are not feeling the best.  So thankful that the baby did not get any of it, but it was a rough couple of weeks!

Lana can't get enough of you and loves holding you!  Both Lana and Grayson love giving you kisses and we have to tell them constantly to get out of your face!
