The day ended with dinner at an Italian restaurant. It was okay, but was one of our more stressful dinners since Lana was not really wanting to sit much longer. I don't blame here. She did great the whole car ride!

Day 1: Amarillo by Morning
We got up around 5:00 and were on the road by 5:30. We thought it would be easier on Lana to leave pretty early so she could go back to sleep for a while. She woke up just outside of Amarillo, Texas. We stopped here for Cracker Barrel breakfast. When I was little no trip was complete without a Cracker Barrel, so we did the same for Lana. She ordered a pancake off the kids menu for the first time. She loved their pancakes! So, after stretching our legs and letting the dogs do their thing, we were back on the road again. The ride was smooth with no problems.
When we got to Canon City, we unpacked and went to Skyline Drive where you can see dinosaur footprints.
