Day 3: Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak

Today we went to Colorado Springs.  The drive was so pretty.  On the drive we even said how amazing it is that God made all of this millions of years ago and it did not look anything like it does now, but it was all part of His plan.  It is just beautiful up here!  I had been to the Garden of the Gods when I was up here for a gymnastics meet many years ago.  We had fun and walked one easy trail between the huge rocks.

The highlight of the day was Pikes Peak.  Dad, Mom, brother, Grandma, and I did this back in 2004 and it was so much fun to do drive it with Jayson and Lana.  Jayson had only been above the tree line one other time in Oregon.  He loves the mountains and really wants to hike a "fourteener" some day soon.  The drive was wonderful and we had great weather.  Last time I did this, we got into a blizzard so we did not really get to look around at the top.  We even ate lunch outside at the top of the mountain.  How often do you get that kind of view!  It was so nice!

( I promise she was not that close to going over the edge!)

( Check out that blue sky!  Just beautiful!)
